Default Movie Trailers

I'm a huge movie fan and hence I love watching movie trailers, quite a few very interesting ones have appeared over the past month or so. Check them out, as they look very promising.

Kingdom of Heaven - It looks amazing, I have high expectations for it.

The Interpreter - Sean Penn & Nicole Kidman are always great, sure to be interesting.

War of the Worlds - Spielberg always has original & interesting movies.. hopefully this one will be no different. Although, I'm still waiting on his 1972 Munich Olympics massacre film.

The Jacket - A Thriller with quite a few quality actors

Although, I find the movie selection not as good as it was in the 90's. I miss the gritty crime movies (i.e. Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Se7en etc). Lately, too many of the films are intended for people who don't care about any story and focus on the neato effects. Sad

If you like martial arts, THX, check out http://www.apple.com/trailers/indepe..._bak-tlr.html/ ! I, for one, am getting a little tired of the fantasy style martial arts movies, i.e. Hero or anything with blue screen and wire effects. I'm ready for a little more realistic style of action movie, so I'm looking forward to this one.

You're not the only one who's missing the ganster flicks, either!

Waiting on the Longest Yard and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

I hate trailers - Matrix 2 and 3 were utterly ruined the the trailers.

THX- You should hear me say "I'm Orlando Bloom, and I'm getting quite robotic in the execution of my lines!". I have been told time and time again that it is spot-on.

Needless to say, I'm not a fan of Bloom.

I am looking forward to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, though.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to Sin City, mainly because it looks....different. But yea, Kingdom of Heaven looks great too. And Uthar, I can imagine that Orlando Bloom impersenation. I've found myself attempting to say it aswell :P

Personally, I am wondering how the fantastic four will work out. Trailers can lie. So it looks good, but can we trust them?

Just for the record War of the Worlds was an old film, a radio show before that, and a book before that and this seems to be yet another remake.

Has anyone seen trailers for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"?
I've always enjoyed comedy mixed in with Sci-Fi / Fantasy.

About Kingdom of Heaven... you gotta trust Ridley Scott, regardless of the actors. A good director can often bring their actors to new levels: a good example... Natalie Portman, laughable in Star Wars (so were many others, and Lucas was directing... just bad all around)... and yet she's a lot stronger in a movie like Garden State, although I'm not sure on the Director, he has to be better than Lucas.

I have my reservations about Orlando Bloom as well, he seems to be pretty popular... but I'll trust Ridley Scott.

I think the new Batman looks pretty cool also... I didn't see anyone mention it. The trailer was ridiculous, just cause it was such a nasty little teaser that got the whole theatre shifting in their seats... some unsure, some excited... by ridiculous, I mean awesome.

Trailers, to me, are so hit-and-miss. Sometimes they can make a movie (or game, for that matter) THAT much more anticipated and build up more excitement... but they can also ruin funny or unexpected moments in the movie. Spongebob Squarepants, for example was a GREAT trailer (I thought) up until they showed David Hasselhoff (spelling?!). If they didn't show that part in the trailer and left it until the movie, I probably would have jumped out of my seat laughing down the isle before coming to a violent stop in the back of someone's chair. Unfortunatly, I knew it was coming and, while still funny, it didn't pack that humourous punch that it could have.

Sometimes it's better to avoid trailers altogether as to not risk something like that from happening.
